3 Eco Friendly Gift ideas
Earth Day is coming up and to celebrate I wanted to share three of my favorite Eco Friendly Gift Ideas that I was recently introduced to. If you are looking for a unique gift and want to honor the Earth and your fellow human beings these are great!
Our family is what one might call ‘green-ish’. By Californian standards we aren’t the greenest family you will find, but we are making more Eco Friendly choices every day. We grow a home garden, we have cut down considerably on consuming animal products and well as processed foods, we recycle, we purchase used, we borrow, we fix before we throw out, we rescue trash and turn it to treasure, we give away before we throw out, and a few other things. But I mean, we buy stuff too. We buy stuff that comes from the store and more often than not it wasn’t made with the environment in mind. I’ve been keeping my eye out for Eco Friendly Gift Ideas recently and I wanted to share a couple of my favorites that I have been introduced to…..
Indy Plush – Edgy. Funny. Outrageous Designs. These funky looking stuffed animals are kind of amazing. A dad and a teacher teamed up to make cuddly plush toys inspired by kindergartner’s drawings. Indy Plush use sustainable materials such as wool and cotton. Fabrics and fillers made from recycled materials such as plastic bottles. Even their packaging is made from recycled materials and water-based inks. Indy Plush started with funny ‘monster’ kinda designs but they have added endangered animals to their line as well. Endangered animal plush designs are of course made of eco friendly products like the others, but 20% of the proceeds are donated to conservation efforts for that animal. Love it! Indy Plush is made 100% in the USA.
Tina Franz Designs – Tina Franz sells one of a kind designs made from discarded fabrics she rescues. Each purse and bag is unique and beautiful! Made in the USA!
LA Urban Farms – This makes gardening possible even if you do not have a yard! A vertical garden is the priciest of the gifts I am sharing here, but if you are looking for a really unique and sustainable gift – this is a great option!
