How Free Online Guitar Lessons with Fender Works…

I love that we are a musical family. One of the ways my husband won me over was with his smooth guitar playing skills. I literally lettered in competitive show choir in high school.  We have always sung and played instruments in our home. It was important to us to foster the love of music in our kids.  We always hoped our kids would love music and want to learn to make music like we did. We are so excited that as our kids grow  up they are following in our footsteps when it comes to music.  Our tween has actually just begun guitar lessons online with Fender.

She of course needed a guitar to begin lessons.  Fender was kind enough to let her pick out the guitar of her choice as part of this sponsored post.  Isn’t it a beauty?  My husband has hinted that he might steal it.  I’ve suggested that perhaps they can share.

learning guitar online

When our daughter wanted to take guitar lessons we first began researching online programs. As a homeschooling family we often use online resources for learning new things. It has always amazed us how many resources we have found online! We have read that kids who learn guitar are more confident, develop coordination, and helps strengthen concentration.  We were thrilled to find that Fender has an online program to learn guitar. Fender Play was a natural choice for our family.  We had read great reviews and loved that there was a free 30 day trial.

Our daughter had some musical experience before beginning the program.  While she did know how to read a little music from her beginning piano lessons, she was very much a beginner.  While we originally thought 11 might be a bit young for guitar, we found that with the Fender program it was the perfect time for her to start.

Fender Play is thorough and easy to follow.  The guided online learning program is meant to teach brand new guitar players to be playing in minutes! Fender Play offers students the opportunity to learn based on their personal musical preferences, this captured my daughter right away.  There are hundreds of instructional videos and hands on exercises to help students gain knowledge and confidence.  The curriculum is designed that even after just a few lessons a player will be able to show off their new skills!

While she had played some piano before, guitar was a brand new challenge. Guitar is a completely different instrument and a little tricky to get the hang of.  Daddy helped set her up and she was committed to lessons almost every night. The lessons were perfect for her level and she progressed from barely knowing how to hold a guitar to playing chords and simple songs.  It is such a joy to hear her pick up the guitar and make up her own music and figure out her own style.

I am sure many people wonder about online programs.  With three kids, this just worked so much better for our family. When our kids can learn online it gives them an opportunity to learn in our house on their own schedule.  It is also almost always less expensive for kids to take an online course than work with a private instructor.  Fender Play was the perfect fit for our family.  We appreciated the free trial and we plan on continuing with the paid course.

This past month we have watched our daughter learn more than we ever thought she could in one month.  We know that there is so much more to learn from Fender Play and we can’t wait to watch her continue to gain skills and grow as an artist.  After watching her follow the course, we would absolutely suggest it to friends who are considering guitar for their tween, teen, or even for themselves.  Our son is already asking if he can learn to play guitar and we of course would go through Fender Play for him as well.

Fender Play sounds like a great way for tweens to learn how to play the guitar. My son learned on YouTube. He had already learned the french horn and the cornet at school. I really do believe it is important for children to learn some type of musical instrument. Thanks for sharing the information.
