Knott’s Berry Farm and Susan G. Komen Orange County are partnering, for a third year, to raise money for breast
cancer awareness, services, and research by offering a special “Pink Ticket” and limited edition “pink” t-shirt, January 4 through March 18. Knott’s For the Cure is an opportunity for guests to help fight cancer while visiting this awesome SoCal theme park! It was a bittersweet moment last year when I attended the 2nd year’s Knott’s For the Cure festivities with two friends who battling breast cancer. I am so thankful both friends are still here, living and loving life! I am thankful for companies like Knott’s Berry Farm and charities like Susan G. Komen for working so hard at advancing the treatment for women all over the world.
Knott’s Berry Farm for the Cure will provide guests with the opportunity to enjoy Knott’s world-class entertainment, attractions, and specially themed pink decor, while supporting a great cause! Special rides and landmarks inside of the theme park will glow pink and limited edition, custom designed “pink” t-shirts will be available for purchase.
In partnership with Susan G. Komen Orange County, Knott’s Berry Farm helped raise $230k over the past two years! I am sure I am not alone in having friends and family members battling this awful beast. I have three beautiful friends, all moms, all the picture of health before diagnosis, all YOUNG, all without breast cancer in their family fighting for their lives right now. I am looking forward to the day where we can say “They found it, they found the cure for breast cancer!” and until they do, I will do everything I can to support my friends who are fighting. One of the best ways we can support is by raising awareness and donating to causes that are finding new ways to fight.
Knott’s Partners With Susan G. Komen For A Third Year forward to coming together with Komen Orange County once again to advance women’s health and raise money and awareness to fight breast cancer. In 2014 and 2015 Knott’s Berry Farm provided complimentary life-saving breast exams and mammograms to women who did not have access to them otherwise. Studies have shown that early detection is key. Studies have also shown that women with lower economic status are not diagnosed as early and have lower success rates. I love that Knott’s partners with Susan G Komen Foundation to provide these tests to women who otherwise may wait too long.
Guests can now purchase Pink Tickets for theme park admission at www.Knotts.com – a portion of the proceeds from tickets and t-shirt sales will benefit Komen Orange County. Have a fun day at Knott’s Berry Farm and help the future look a little brighter at the same time – win win!
