Leap TV – review
It is no secret that I am not a huge fan of video games most of the time. Even if a game in educational I find it kind of silly for little ones to be sitting on their bum when they could be out running around. I love the new trend of video games that get kids up moving and learning. Leap TV is the first (and only!) active video game system made just for kids ages 3 – 8. We were excited to have the opportunity to review the Leap TV. Leap Frog is one of our favorite brands of educational toys already, I was thrilled to hear about their new active video game system!
Our littlest is 4 and just like the big kids she only gets a limited amount of media time. I love that she has a fun new option that gets her moving and also learning. Leap TV has several different game options – it will come as no surprise that Little Miss C enjoys learning her numbers, letters, and more with the Disney licensed Frozen game! To play the game a little one needs to be standing up and will wave their arms and jump around. It took Little Miss C a while to get the hang of it, but she learned and she loves it. I am fairly certain she is learning numbers and letters faster because the game is so engaging for her.
Kids can play the Leap TV is three different ways – body motion, pointer play, and classic control. The transforming controller works in two different modes and is very simple to understand.
The system includes a console, camera, mount, transforming controller, HDMI cable, AC power adapter, 16GB memory, and built in Wi-Fi port for downloads. The LEAP TV unit includes the game Pet Play World which teaches math, reading, science, and problem solving.
Leap TV is a reasonably priced package deal and additional games are also at a great price point. I must say, the Leap TV won me over!
At the time of this post the Leap TV is more than 50% off and Prime Eligible on Amazon!
