Disclosure: Our behind the scenes drawing demo was part of #PixarCocoEvent - this even was hosted by Disney. Opinions are always my own.

Olaf’s Frozen Adventure is set to make it’s broadcast television debut this week! On Thursday December 14th, families can watch the full animated short on ABC at 8pm EST. Olaf’s Frozen Adventure first premiered along with Disney Pixar’s Coco.  Olaf’s Frozen Adventure will be part of the popular “25 days of Christmas” Celebration on The ABC Television Network.

We are big fans of Disney’s Frozen and we can’t wait to cozy up and watch Olaf’s Frozen Adventure from the coziness of our couch. In the latest adventure, it is holiday season in Arendelle. Anna and Elsa discover that they didn’t really have any holiday customs growing up. Olaf visits townspeople asking about their favorite holiday customs in hopes of sharing them with the sisters. The message is sweet and perfect for ringing in the season with your family. We are going to make some hot cocoa and popcorn, we can’t wait!

I got to see Olaf’s Frozen Adventure during #PixarCocoEvent and was able to sit in on a drawing demo with a couple of the animators that worked on Frozen.  I am never sad to Roy E. Disney Animation Building.

We were able to sit in a studio surrounded by concept art….

We also got to see some of the transitions from sketches to rough animation to finished movie clips!

While this computer rendering is a huge leap from the sketch above, you have got to check out the quick clip below that shows the dramatic difference between the first drawings and the final movie!

I took a few quick videos to share the day we visited. I loved the behind the scenes look and wanted to share with our audience here as well.  This is a short video, but shows some of the earliest drawings and also the finished look of two very popular scenes in Olaf’s Frozen Adventure. Seeing these clips make me appreciate this art form so much!

Animators Michael Franceschi and Chad Sellers shared with us how a few scenes come together and also took the time to draw with us. I can’t get over the fact that we got to have a quick drawing lesson with animators. Of course they chose the man of the hour, Olaf.  This is my sketch….

Who loves Olaf as much as us? Check out this fun and FREE Olaf Printable and make sure to pin it for later

In case you have not seen Olaf’s Frozen Adventure yet, here is a quick peek with the official trailer….

Don’t forget to tune into “25 Days of Christmas” on ABC!  We will for sure be tuning in on the 14th for our favorite snowman, Olaf!
