Vintage Style for the Holidays!
Disclosure: My dress was provided by Shabby Apple to facilitate this review. I was a fan of Shabby Apple before and opinions are 100% my own.
I want to introduce you to my new favorite dress! I have always loved Vintage Style and I love this Shabby Apple dress for just about any special occasion! While I plan on wearing this dress for Christmas dinner, I think it is lovely for a New Year’s Celebration, Valentine’s Day, a night out to the theater, or any time you want to feel pretty. This sweet little number is called “Hold Me Tight” and is part of the “It’s a Mod World” Black & White collection. I like that this is not exactly black and white but more of a black and cream.
While I am sure everyone is different, I found Shabby Apple to run just a tad large. I tend to be between a 4 and 6 – typically a size small (depending on the brand). The first dress I received to review was absolutely gorgeous but was much too big (and it was a size small). They were out of stock of the XS so I opted for another choice that they did have a smaller size in. I wouldn’t personally describe myself at ‘extra small’ but I didn’t mind! In reading their measurements I was at the low end of a small, high end of an extra small – I love how this dress fits and I found the sizing to be very helpful!
I think it is important to point out how easy it was to return and exchange my dress. As I said before, this was my first Shabby Apple dress, so I was not sure how returns would work. I was emailed a return mailing label – totally painless (and free!) to exchange. I am always wary when purchasing online for the first time, I never know exactly what size to order, but the Shabby Apple exchange policy made it so easy! The exchange was easy peasy and the new dress fits like a glove!
I absolutely love this dress! I love the classic fitted bodice and full skirt. The overall geometric design is fun and edgy, and I think the little black bow belt is my absolute favorite! This dress is fully lined and cut beautifully. This is a classic dress I plan on wearing for years to come!
I have been a fan of Shabby Apple style for a long time and even more so now because I have been able to experience this dress in person. I love that Shabby Apple is modest without looking frumpy. I mean, I want to look like a lady, not a Grandma….. *no offense to Grandmas – you know what I mean* I also love that Shabby Apple has a beautiful vintage inspired look without looking “Costumey”. I have already received so many compliments on this dress – make sure to check out all their beautiful dresses, tops, skirts, and accessories!
Their newest line that I am kinda obsessed with is Tartans & Tweeds, I am currently drooling over Bonnie (pictured below in olive green) and Sutherland (in the same collection) – I think these will be my next Shabby Apple purchases!
