Should I get a Memory Maker on a Disney Vacation?

Disclosure: We received a complimentary Memory Maker at the Disney Social Media Moms Conference. I was not required to post about it and opinions are 100% my own.

If you are planning a trip to Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Aulani, or a Disney Cruise you may be wondering “Should I get a Memory Maker on a Disney Vacation?” “Is it Worth it?” “Will I really get a big use out of a Memory Maker at Disney?” Our family recently went to Walt Disney World for the first time and part of our package included a Memory Maker.  We honestly have never considered one before – “Why would I do that? I have a camera!” I would say to myself.  But guess what?  We LOVED it!  If we are ever to take more than a day trip to a Disney Park or Resort we will be sure to purchase one.

Disney PhotoPass Service gets everyone in the picture—and Memory Maker allows you to download all of your Photos from your Disney Vacation at these fun locations…..

Disney PhotoPass Photographers

Disney PhotoPass Photographers are available with just about every Disney Character posing for photos in the parks. PhotoPass Photographers are also available at many iconic locations – in front of castles, at shows, etc.

Attraction Photos and Videos

We always have wanted to purchase photos from rides but typically don’t.  It is hard to decide which one to purchase and they can really add up – but ALL attraction photos and videos are included in your Memory Maker!

Buzz-Lightyear-Memory-MakerHarry is taking this competition with the 3 year old a little too seriously….

Look at our Video from Seven Dwarfs Mine Train at Magic Kingdom Park!  We didn’t even have to scan our Magic Band or anything – it’s magic you guys!

Magic Shots
If this isn’t the cutest thing I am not sure what is!  The kids LOVED seeing Tinker Bell magically appear in their hands as well as all the fun photo enhancements!

Dining Photos
We did not take advantage of any Character Dining while we were at Walt Disney World – but this is a really cool feature that is worth pointing out.  We have enjoyed Character Dining in the past and as the family photographer I was constantly up and down taking photos and I am not in a single one.  With a Memory Maker I would be able to sit and enjoy my meal AND be in a couple photos too! Wins all around!

The fact that I am actually in some pictures several pictures is a selling point for me.  I don’t need a million pictures of me, but between being the self appointed family photographer, the hustle and bustle that goes along with three kids, and all the distractions at Disney there have been times where I have not been in one single picture from our whole trip!

One more quick thing I have to do to sing the praises of the Memory Maker – if you get one and you are missing pictures you can call and some really nice person will do their best to help you find those photos!  For real – they will go through the whole data base and work really hard at trying to find your photos! In our case we were especially excited to meet Duffy the Bear and we had several photos taken with Duffy at Epcot.  When I got home and I was looking through our photos in our Memory Maker I noticed we were missing our pictures of Duffy!  I was sure we had taken them. The kids had fallen in love with Duffy because they played a Duffy cartoon at The Yacht Club and they were so excited that they met him too!  I waited until a friend prompted me to call for help, I never like to bother anyone but I made the call….

Guess what?!  In about five little minutes an awesome Cast Member named Joe helped me find all our Duffy photos!

He simply asked a few questions about what day and about what time we were there.  He looked at our other photos and asked if we had changed our outfits so he could know what he was looking for.  He was able to narrow it down and found them all!

He said that every once in a while a PhotoPass camera will have a hiccup – in our case our Magic Band was likely not scanned in time (our kids probably bickered over who’s turn it was) and while the photos were saved, they were not attached to our account.  One phone call to a really helpful guy attached them to our account!  That was above and beyond in my opinion!

If you are planning a trip to any Disney destination I highly suggest the Memory Maker – and order it BEFORE you go because you will get a Memory Maker discount of $30 off!
