St. Patricks Day gift basket ideas. Pot o Gold baskets for March

St. Patrick’s Day gift baskets; or ‘pot of gold’ gifts are on the rise. Maybe you have never gifted a St. Patrick’s Day basket before. I kind of love the idea because it will likely be a surprise to the recipient. I love an excuse to give a themed gift. Gifts can be simple to extravagant, but make sure there is green and gold!

If you are a teacher or a parent, make sure to check out our St. Patrick’s Day coloring pages and activity sheets. We love to share our growing resource library for every holiday!

What is a St. Patrick’s Day “Pot of Gold”?

The night before St. Patrick’s Day many families set up leprechaun traps. Our kids used to enjoy this tradition with their Aunt when they were littler. Kids will set up an elaborate trap only to find that the sneaky leprechaun was too quick! While the Leprechaun may have gotten away; he sometimes leaves little treats or even a ‘pot of gold’. This tradition has grown to include a gift for neighbors, teachers, classmates, and partners too!

Why is there a gift basket for every month now?

I of all people do not believe anyone should be pressured into giving a gift for every holiday; I just have fun ideas if you do want to! If you are giving a gift to your teacher during the month of St. Patrick’s day, it just adds an extra level of fun to make it green in theme. We have shared baskets for Valentine’s Day, Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and we are adding more holidays like St. Patrick’s Day just in case!

There is never a bad time to give a gift to someone you love. Below are some fun ideas if you are thinking of making a gift basket but have never made a St. Patrick’s Day gift basket. I think many of these would be a fun gift basket for a kid away at college too! Get creative and put your own personal spin. No matter what you do; make sure something in the basket is green!

St. Patrick’s Day Gift Basket Ideas

The following green basket ideas were curated by our family! We hope that you will check them out and know that if you make a purchase, a small percentage goes to us to help keep this site going. We truly appreciate you checking out our gift guides and sharing them with others.

Basket – Start with a festive basket. We use themed, holiday gift baskets year after year. I love this cute basket with shamrocks all over. When you use a themed basket for your family you can reuse!

Leprechaun Pot – If you would prefer something like a Leprechaun pot, this is a great deal! This is also a perfect theme for little ones who caught a leprechaun!

Chocolate Coins – I am partial to these chocolate coins because they also have chocolate peanut butter cups! I think a leprechaun would definitely bring me chocolate peanut butter cups.

Irish Blanket – This beautiful wool throw blanket is a bit of a splurge, but so cozy!

Shamrock Sunglasses – These are especially fun for kids and teachers!

Lucky Charms – Grabbing a box of Lucky Charms is a fun idea, but if you are making several baskets, popping in an individual Lucky Charms cereal is a fun idea!

Rainbow Candy – Because your leprechaun pot was found at the end of the rainbow, it only makes sense to have some colorful candy too!

Shamrock Necklace and Headband – These light up Shamrock necklaces and headbands are also perfect for teachers and families!

St. Patrick’s Day Hat – “Let the Shenanigans Begin!” is a perfect hat to wear when out with friends on St. Patrick’s Day!

Celtic Earrings – These earrings are so pretty with both a Celtic knot and a claddagh symbol.

I hope your St. Patrick’s Day is lovely. I wish you the sun on your face and the wind on your back.
