What it is like to be a Disney Voice
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to be the voice of a Disney Animated Character? I have always wondered what it is like to be a Disney Voice. When I was a kid I loved watching behind the scenes specials about Disney movies and the actors that help bring the art to life. Disney movies are passed down and enjoyed for generations, I just think it must be so exciting to voice a character and be a little piece of history.
When I saw on the itinerary of our Big Hero 6 trip we had a day scheduled to voice Baymax in the actual Disney sound booth I squealed. We were excited to hear a bit about what it is like to be a Disney voice from Jamie Chung and Genesis Rodriguez earlier and to try it out for ourselves was just something I never thought I would ever get to experience.
Below is video of me in the sound booth, and below that is the video of my edited voice in the actual movie.
I don’t want to brag too much, but I mean I did it in one take. That’s pretty professional. Keep me in mind for future projects Disney. Perhaps a small part in Moana? I’m not kidding, I want to be a Disney voice – please call me!
Here is the finished scene with my voice as Baymax. My kids think it is all kinds of fun to see Mommy voicing one of their new favorite Disney characters.

If you could voice any Disney character who would it be? Just wondering!
This is so fun. My dad draws cartoons for a living and sometimes we get to go the the sound booth and watch the voice actors. It’s never dull.
that is awesome Rachel!
So awesome! I would so love to have my voice in an animated movie as well! Disney one, even better!
Oh my goodness this sooooo neat!!!
