Arab American Month is celebrated in April and is a wonderful time to learn about Arab Americans who have contributed to the US. The late Christa Mcauliffe was a dedicated school teacher and an astronaut on the Challenger shuttle. It is fairly unknown that Christa Mcauliffe was of Arab decent. She is an excellent person to learn about during Arab American Month. She is remembered for her bravery and dedication to STEM. This book about the Challenger Shuttle is an excellent book choice for a lesson about Mcauliffe and the crew of the Challenger SHuttle.

Christa Mcauliffe Coloring Page
Christa McAuliffe was a teacher in the 1980s. In 1985, McAuliffe was selected from more than 11,000 applicants to the NASA Teacher in Space Project. McAuliffe was the first teacher to fly to space. Sadly, the Challenger shuttle exploded shortly after take off. Children across the United States grieved the tragedy, but no more than her students who looked forward to learning lessons about experiments she was to conduct on the mission.
