Shang – Chi coloring page FREE PRINTABLE and Movie Review!

Disclosure: Thank you to Disney for inviting my son and I to an early screening of the film, all opinions are my own. These coloring sheets are not licensed, only inspired by Marvel. Drawn by me.

“Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”opens in theaters everywhere on September 3, 2021.  Today we are sharing our thoughts on the film and re sharing our Shang-Chi coloring page.  We promise our parent review of Shang-Chi is free from spoilers.

Is Shang-Chi too scary for kids?

My teenage son and I had the opportunity to screen Shang-Chi before it hit theaters everywhere.  As my kids get older, we may not as be as concerned about how scary movies are, but this is still a number one question from many of our readers.  Shang-Chi is rated PG-13; but like many Marvel movies I felt it was right on the cusp of PG and PG-13 rather than right on the cusp of PG-13 and R.

Marvel movies tend to have fighting, violence, and even death; but are rarely gory. There are guns, knives, other weapons, and lots of fighting.  Shang-Chi has some very intense moments; but very little blood. True to a PG-13 rating you are going to hear some ‘bad words’, but I don’t believe I heard any Effs. For those worried about sexual content; there is literally nothing. Shang-Chi does not have any love interest (or lust interest) plot points; so no sexy time you might want to have the littlest of kids avert their eyes for.

I personally believe this film would have not been too scary for any of my children from about 8 years old and up.  That said, I believe every child is different and every parent’s boundaries are different.  The good thing is that Shang-Chi would make a great date night so I suggest pre-screening with your partner or friends and decide if you want to see it again with kids.

Is there a scene after credits in Shang-Chi?

Yes! There is a scene after the credits in Shang-Chi! Like many Marvel movies, there is an awesome scene after the credits run for Shang-Chi so make sure to stay in your seat.

I wish every movie had a little bonus scene after the film; so many people work so hard on every film for you to not sit and give them recognition.  I cannot give away any information about the bonus scene; but Marvel fans in the audience with us were really happy they stayed.  Never, ever leave a Marvel movie until the end of the credits; you are almost always missing out on something extra special for fans.
